Rihanna received the Fashion Icon award at the 2014 CFDA Fashion Awards on Monday night, but it was her dress that had everyone talking. The 26-year-old stepped out in a barely there, custom Adam Selman gown, covered head-to-toe in more than 230,000 Swarovski crystals… and not much else.
In an interview with Style.com, the singer’s stylist, Mel Ottenberg, opened up about the labor intensive frock. "So many people didn't sleep last night," he admitted. "I would say at least eight people worked nonstop from 8 p.m. last night to 3 p.m. today putting on the finishing touches."
The look was conceived last month while Selman and Ottenberg were dressing Rihanna for the MTV Movie Awards. "We definitely wanted to make it a little bit scandalous," Selman told Style.com. "The dress is just fishnet and crystals and a couple of fingers crossed. But fashion is about beauty, and the [female] body is part of that."
Here's a new take on a time-honored custom.
Terrell Owens, 40, is a married man. The former NFL player turned reality star married Rachel Snider, a postal worker, in a secret courthouse ceremony on Thursday, RadarOnline.com reports.
The couple have done a good job keeping their relationship on the down-low. It’s not known when they met, how long they’ve been dating or when they got engaged. Snider, 33, announced the engagement on Facebook earlier this week.
As for the low-key nuptials, Radar reports that there was just one witness, and the happy couple wore matching blue outfits. This was Owens’ first trip down the aisle, though he has four children with four separate women.
